Jeremy Smith is a first aid educator, paramedic and passionate health teacher with nearly 20 years’ experience in emergency care, public health and clinical education.
His career began on the road as a paramedic, where he saw first-hand how the actions taken in the first few minutes of an emergency can change everything.
Since then, Jeremy has worked across a wide range of settings, from educating volunteer ambulance officers in some of Australia’s most remote communities to training medics for the Australian Defence Force. He also spent a year in Mongolia developing a first aid training program for the Red Cross, an experience that strengthened his belief that practical health knowledge should be accessible to everyone, no matter where they live.
Jeremy’s combination of emergency experience, public health training and teaching expertise gives him a rare ability to make complex medical information feel clear, calm and achievable.
Mighty First Aid began after a maternal child health nurse identified a gap in local first aid training for parents of young children in North East Victoria. For Jeremy, the need was clear: regional families deserved practical, high-quality training that understood the realities of caring for babies and children. Becoming a father deepened that mission, and his courses are designed to replace fear with confidence, giving parents, carers and educators simple, memorable skills they can use when it matters most.
Jeremy’s teaching style is warm, practical and reassuring. He believes first aid does not need to be intimidating. With the right guidance, everyday people can learn simple skills that make a mighty big difference before professional help arrives.
